Bernard Pallandre, curator of the Ampère Museum, selected several letters from Ampère's extensive correspondence, which were performed by a troupe of amateur actors and dancers in a show entitled “The Family of the Great Ampère.” The audience was able to meet André-Marie Ampère's loved ones, his family, his great love Julie Carron, and his friends and colleagues, including Julien Bredin, Maine de Biran, Fresnel, Cuvier, and many others. Ballet performances of old dances alternated with readings that offered the audience a unique perspective on Ampère.
Congratulations to the troupe of actors and dancers, who received warm applause during the performances on June 14 and 15 at the Salle Pillonel in Poleymieux au Mont d'Or, as part of the Ampère Festival.
